In a group of no more than 4 students, learn a number of techniques which will be essential later when you move on to more advanced upholstery projects.

You have the option to pay extra for pine tulip legs, or legs of solid beech or oak. All legs can be finished with light or medium wax. You also have the choice of providing your own fabric, or ordering fabric from a wide range at the workshop.

The simplest upholstery project, which offers the opportunity to learn key techniques essential for more advanced projects.
Bring your own dining room chair, with a drop-in seat. This might be made with a plywood base, or a webbed base. Chairs with a plywood base can be modified to create a webbed seat.
Max. class size is 4 students
The cost includes use of tools and all materials except the cover fabric. This can be bought at the workshop, or you can bring your own suitable fabric.
Open workshops/Drop-in sessions
Make use of the workshop facilities such as tools, books or even our experience and bring in your own project to work on. £20 for two hours access which includes tea or coffee.
Or simply pop in for a cup of coffee and a chat about your proposed upholstery project, or bring a piece of furniture in for inspection/advice.
Upholstery supplies such as webbing, polyester, back tacking tape, etc are available to buy in the workshop. Simply pay for what you use on the day or buy to take away.
